About the Artist:

Deeply influenced by Carl Jung, I am interested in our ability to archive an incredible amount of data perceived with our five senses consciously, but also in our subconscious mind. These memories consist of images, sounds, thoughts, feelings, sensations and other. No longer had a particular single image or memory they are all mingled without boundary of time.

In my work I capture those fragments in “Emotional Landscapes” in an abstract manner.

Landscapes are shaped by the natural phenomena, such as erosion by wind and water – those processes and movements are the inspiration for my work.  The landscape movements resonate with the mingled emotions in my subconscious mind and influence my work. Fluid paints and drawings indicate the movements and colors are built in layers as to reconstruct the landscape.

There are said to be many layers in our subconscious mind – personal, collective and beyond.

Viewers can experience my creative and psychological journey through my work which tells us that we can connect in a subliminal level by resonate to the painting.

Mylar is the surface I mainly work on because of the transparency and lightness of it - unpainted sections on painting give airy openness, white becomes a meaningful color instead of background. It’s a very interesting material to explore many possibilities from which material to paint with, to how it can be displayed.

Born in Hyogo and graduating from college in Kyoto, Japan, she came to New York to study painting at Art Student League, New York Studio School and School of Visual Arts. She is actively creating and exhibiting her work in New York.
