How has covid19 affected you?

“These past months have been a time of introspection. The first months of the Pandemic were isolating and difficult to get through. Luckily, I have a home studio, so I was able to be very productive while I was furlonged from my full-time job. During this time I made works featuring fences and nightscapes which embody this feeling of melancholy and feeling trapped. The murder of George Floyd was a tipping point in a long, long line of police brutality and systemic racism. When I went to protests it was, strangely, a relief to be around so many other people who were also mourning. The BLM movement is a powerful conductor of change and justice. This feeling of solidarity between people protesting together actually makes me feel hopeful for the future, after those long spring months in isolation.” - Katrina
