Artist Statement

My body of work consists largely of original prints, or work that exist only in printed form as original productions. They are the result of a multimedia process, beginning with acrylic or gouache on paper or canvas and transferred photographically to Photoshop. The paintings are then altered using the various tools available in Photoshop to interact with light and color (as a function of light). I go further than edit or alter the photographs of the paintings, and abjectly create using the software. Conceptually, I engage with the interactions of art and language. "Texts" for example, may be read, or felt as textiles, and humans have decorated their textiles with patterns, or narratives such as in the case scrolls or tapestries. I abstract these concepts and create "text"-like prints.
