A Group Exhibition at Solas Studio
Since the dawn of humanity, the sun has been deified, studied, and revered. It is the ultimate source of energy, the dictator of time, and the fundamental genesis of light. In Sun Worship, the dynamic community of artists and photographers at Solas Studio comes together to explore our enduring relationship with the center of our solar system.
This exhibition delves into the multifaceted interpretations of the sun—from ancient mythologies and ritualistic reverence to the sweltering, unyielding intensity of a Manhattan summer. For visual creators, the sun represents more than a celestial body; it provides the essential element of their craft. Through a diverse array of mediums, the members of the studio manipulate, abstract, and capture the sun’s most crucial byproduct: light. Solas is Gallic for “light”.
